My name is Don and here's our story.
Over the past few years, like many, life has dealt us a series of bad hands. My mother had a bad stroke. We try to help as much as we can as the people that live with her are not that good at it. Both our dogs passed within a few months of each other. The good paying job I had went away when the company I worked for needed to do some 'cost cutting'. I spent a year and a half out of work, burning through my savings, selling my motorcycle, and cashing out my 401k. My wife's ex is going on his 5th year of little to no interest in his child and paying exactly $0 in child support. My son came out as my daughter and while I fully support this, there are legal and medical costs that go along with it. The stress of it all has caused me to have a breakdown that almost hospitalized me, but now with meds and such I'm coping but it's yet another bill.
We have made many cuts but can't get out from this hole we're in. We haven't gone on any vacaitons or even gone out to a restaurant unless someone else was paying in years. Bills fell behind and I'm doing that juggling act of what shutoff notices to pay and always falling more and more behind. I'm working again at a very good job, but it pays half what my old job did. I've been trying everything up to and including selling anything and everything I can, and now I've come to this, asking friends, famly, and total strangers for help.
Help me take better care of my mom.
Help me help my daughter in her transition.
Help me get my family out of this damned hole we're in.
The amount I've asked will eliminate two bills entirely, and catch everything else up to at least current. More would be used to from anything to just having a bit of safety cushion in the savings account to being comfortable enough to rescue a dog to moving my mom to a better place or sending my daughter to culinary school like she wants to depending on how awesome this goes.
Basically, I'm just a regular dude who hit a very bad patch and needs a little help and I've swallowed my pride and am asking the world. I want to take care of my mom like she did for me for so long. I want my daughter to not enter the world with crippling debt. I want to rescue another dog and give them a forever home.
