Please help Magnolia (Maggie) blossom into a healthy dog with a life worth living!
On April 18, 2016 we were contacted by one of our volunteers who met a very sad, broken down, senior dog that had been hit by a car and was set to be euthanized by the kill shelter she was brought to. He saw hope in her eyes, even as she was unable to move, unable to walk and defecated and urinated where she lay. He promised her that he would save her from this place, from a planned death, even if it was just to let her find peace in a calm environment and with dignity.
The dog with no name, became Magnolia, aka Maggie. She went to a specialty vet clinic for 2 weeks where she was in isolation boarding due to kennel cough. After blood tests were run and xrays were taken, this girl just needed help - she didn't need to be euthanized. We had hope! The xrays showed no broken bones, but sometimes soft tissue damage is worse than a broken bone. So she was put on pain management and other therapies, including chiropractic treatments.
Maggie is extremely emaciated. She survived the city streets of the Southside of Chicago for who knows how long to get into this horrible shape. She survived horrible people throwing rocks and other things at her, she survived not eating, she survived dodging cars - even the last one that hit her. She deserves so much more in life than she has had to endure.
Our goal is to raise $2000 towards her medical care. As of this posting, we have spent already over $1100 for her care. We have received donations towards her care already from very kind and generous donors but sadly, we need more to give her the medical she needs and deserves.
Any amount is appreciated and any and every donation made to Maggie will be used for her care. We are an all volunteer organization and none of us receive a paycheck or reimbursement for our time. Donations truly go towards our foster animals.
