2023 Oxford Juneteenth

Oxford Juneteenth is a community celebration established with a simple goal – to build bridges between neighborhoods in Oxford, MS. The celebration was started by families. Every family on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Circle area, donated $20 and a package of hot dogs to host a community event open to everyone. We recognized that by sharing food, breaking bread with our neighbors across Oxford increased our sense of community, understanding, and African American contributions to our sense of place. Sixteen years later 2,500 residents come together as a family. This year we invite you to be part of the festival. Our committee is planning the largest celebration ever and we would like for you to come be a part of our festival.

Please join our community at the Juneteenth celebration at the Central Elementary Parking lot for the city’s best block party with entertainment, games, and fellowship.
