My name is Phallon, a senior psychology major at Spelman College originally from Detroit, MI. It is my honor to present the 2018 Rosa's Angel Scholarship Fund, which is named after my grandmother who has always supported me, to supply scholars (upcoming college freshmen) with the money to cover the costs of books. As a college student myself, I understand the complexities and difficulties of covering the numerous costs of post-secondary education. I have been blessed enough to be able to cover my costs of attendance and want to bless someone else. It is for these reasons that I want to assist in easing the financial burden of purchasing books for a student. Following the success of last year's fundraising, I am very excited to say that this year we will be supplying TWO young scholars with scholarships. I would like to ask for your assistance and support in making this possible. Any amount that you are able and willing to donate is greatly appreciated. Every dollar donated will go to the winners of the scholarships. If in the event I exceed the $1,000 amount, the balance raised will be awarded to other applicants in the appropriate amount. The winner will be picked based on merit, aspirations, their response to the essay question, and service. They will also be posted on my website (phallonsym.com).
