Alison's Volunteer Trip to Nicaragua
Donation protected
Greetings Friends and Family,
As many of you already know (due to my overwhelming excitement), I have the wonderful opportunity to travel with GIVE Volunteers this upcoming summer to Nicaragua.
GIVE is an international volunteer organization offering excursions that combine development projects with cultural immersion and adventures abroad, for a unique and meaningful volunteer experience of a lifetime.
The group of international students I will be traveling with will begin in Jiquilillo, Nicaragua on June 30th and finish our volunteer excursion on a remote island in the Caribbean July 14th. We will be working side by side with guides and locals to begin construction of an eco-friendly vocational school out of recycled materials, because GIVE aims to improve human lives through building essential community infrastructure.
Nicaragua unfortunately is the second poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, so every bit of volunteer work helps tremendously. We will be building this recycled vocational school in response to there being only one school accessible to most children in the remote fishing villages of Nicaragua. This single, severely overpopulated secondary school located over 8 kilometers away is very difficult to access, hindering the local children's ability to become educated.
Whatever you can give in support of my fundraiser is a true blessing and I thank you so much! I also thank you in advance for your prayers for safe travel, prayers for the students we will be working with, and funding support.
This link will take you right to the GIVE website giving you further information on my excursion, filled with photos, a volunteer produced video, and even information if YOU are interested in joining GIVE Volunteers! :)
Thank you again for your support,
