We are seeking to raise half of the funds needed for our dear friend as she courageously battles Scleroderma—an autoimmune disease that causes hardening of connective tissue. Scleroderma is a rare, chronic condition that currently has no cure. The hardening of connective tissue effects the entire body and has spread into lungs. Pulmonary disease(ILD) is the leading cause of death in patients with scleroderma. She recently began STEM cell and bone marrow treatments to help manage her condition.

After a recent visit to her doctor, learned that the fibrosis in her lungs has rapidly progressed. Due to this sudden progression she has to aggressively treat her condition. The only treatment her health insurance will cover is chemotherapy, which doesn’t stop or cure Scleroderma. A lung transplant is not an option either, due to the very low rate of success with Scleroderma patients. Scleroderma is extremely rare and requires innovative treatment that is not covered by traditional health insurance. After much careful thought and research,
and her husband of 2 years, Jacob, made the decision to pursue alternative treatments that specialize in bone marrow and STEM cell transplant therapies.

In 2012, learned of her condition after a sinus surgery revealed signs of Scleroderma. was able to successfully manage the disease and halt the fibrosis in her lungs for over 5 years. She completed her degree at UCSB, began a career in finance, married the love of her life and had their first child, all while managing Scleroderm.

However, in 2018, shortly after the pregnancy and birth of her first child, Arden, began to experience a steady decline in her health. Most recently, she has experienced loss of function with her arms and hands, shooting pains throughout her body lasting longer than 12 hours, and the inability to catch her breath.

We are asking for funds to cover half the cost of treatments, as well as medical equipment she will require once she is home. All funds raised will go to help cover:
3-6 weeks of outpatient therapy (6-8 hours per day, 6 days a week)
3 at home machines to sustain quality of life

is a new mother and loving wife who deserves nothing more than to have her quality of life restored. We are grateful for any funds contributed through this campaign, and hope to pay the generosity you have showed Kalee forward.
