Rally Behind Riley

This is Riley and she has a heart condition called Tetralogy of Fallot which is a condition with four congenital heart defects. She wasnt scheduled for heart surgery until she was about 4 months old.
Riley has been fairly symptom free up until just last week when her parents noticed her eating habits were decreasing and she would become very fussy. She is suppose to eat about 3-5oz of formula every 4hours. From Monday night leading into Tuesday she went over 8hours without eating. She refused to eat.
Her parents had a genetics appointment on Tuesday to continue tests for a condition called Digeorge syndrome which can occur with Tetralogy of Fallot. Her mom had messaged Riley’s cardiologist about whats been happening and the doctor met them at her appointment. She insisted they admit Riley to the hospital.
Not long after arriving she would have blue spells or tet spells; where she would over work herself and become upset to the point where she would become blue. Basically no blood was reaching her lungs because her valve was clamping shut leading to her oxygen levels to drop down into the 30s. This has not happened before.
Since the first spell we have been move to the Picu area. She will remain here until her surgery and the days following until they feel like she is well enough to be moved to a less urgent area and then home.
With all this happening on such short noticed it has been very stressful on her parents, Heather and Kevin.
“I know there is not much I can do for her except try to keep her as calm as possible until her surgery but I feel like if I were to leave her, my emotions and thoughts would be overwhelming and bring everyone down around me. Im lucky Riley has such an amazing father to get us both through this. And the support from our families is exceptional. I thought the hardest part was bringing her into this world but I was so wrong. This is the hardest part, watching her go through all this and I cannot even help her.” -Heather
In lieu of good vibes and prayers, donations will go to the parents to aid in the surgery expenses, recovery costs, and maintaining their household bills, because unfortunately, when the unexpected occurs, bills don’t stop accumulating.
Thank you and God bless ❤️
