£££'s for our Cheshire Search and Rescue Team

Tax deductible
Hi everyone.

Thank you for showing an interest in my quest!

My name is Luke and I have recently been privileged enough to join the Cheshire Search and Rescue Team, something which I have wanted to do for quite some time.

For those of you who are not aware, the Cheshire Search and Rescue team is a made up of an extraordinary group of people who are all volunteers. We are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and are ready to deploy at any time and in any weather to assist Cheshire's emergency services in finding missing and vulnerable people in their hour of need.

Cheshire Search and Rescue team is a registered charity and a non-profit organisation. To put it simply, the team relies solely on members subs, official grants, fundraising and the generosity of our community to keep us operational.  Members are all volunteers and when they are not working full time, being called out or training, they take part in a variety of fundraising activities such as bag packing, collections, talks and providing medical rescue cover for events.

To give you a rough idea, it costs over £50 per day to keep the team operational and this increases during operational call outs.

So, where do I fit in to this?

In May and June, I have 2 rather horrendous bike rides looming on my horizon. In total, the 2 rides will cover approximately 316 miles of unforgiving terrain, and they will see my poor legs pedalling over 27,000 feet of climbing.

The first event on the 19th May will be in the Peak District.  115 miles in total and will act as a nice warm up for the discomfort that will follow (https://velo29events.com/sportives/tour-of-the-peak/tour-peak-long-route/)

On the 22nd June is the big one. will see me take on the 'Yorkshire Beast'. Over 200 miles of hills, pain and general misery. (https://velo29events.com/sportives/yorkshire-beast/)

I would love to raise as much as I can for this most worthy of causes. I have set a target which equates to roughly £2 for every mile I cycle. I would love for your support to get me there, and hopefully beyond!!

If you would like to learn more about the Cheshire Search and Rescue Team, then please feel free to visit http://cheshire-sarteam.org/

You can also follow the team on Facebook to see what we are up to, and for more ways that you can help us to continue operating.

Please give anything you can, it will go a long, long way. It will certainly make the pain I will feel on my bike worth it!

Thank you for your support. For those who donate, I will keep you all updated on my journey via my 'GoFundMe' page.

I best go and get some training in the bag...
