Millions were hit by Hurricane Sandy, and the impact varied greatly. Many were left without power, or without shelter. Tragedies hit and people donate, and then we forget.
Local businesses get crushed, and you don't realize the impact until it's close to home. My friend's newly opened bar - Alphabet City Beer Co - got hit pretty badly, and when you own your own business, that's your income source.
It couldn't have happened to a nicer guy who constantly helps others - and so this is a chance for those who know him, and those who don't - to lend a small hand and help him rebuild. I'd consider it a personal favor. Help a small business owner out - it's great karma, I promise you.
