A Monument of Wonders
My work is about the intersection of time, consciousness, and language. It is not only a revolutionary but an involutionary way of perceiving and experiencing. It is A Monument of Wonders.
Most people are aware of monuments like Mount Rushmore or the Great Pyramids, mountains of stone built to inspire generations. But there are also monuments of words, like the Bible, the Koran, or the Mahabharta.
Monuments are not just large, they also embodied what a people believe most deeply about themselves, and want to leave as a legacy. Finally, Monuments are constructed as vehicles for spiritual transformation. They exist to bring us face to face with a dimension of being which includes the ordinary, but which goes far beyond it.
My literary work A Monument of Wonders (click here for website, with large text samples, and an exposition of themes and structure of the work) is an attempt to create a unified work of art to serve, as the subtitle states, as "A Literary Awareness Exercise Presenting a New Model of Time, Consciousness, and Language."
I have worked full-time on the project for more than 13 years, and it currently comprises about 2000 pages of finished text, divided into 200 sections or chapters. It is written as a work of fiction covering several key historical periods, and comprised of many styles, including hundreds of original poems. As far as I know, it is the most ambitious literary project since James Joyce's Ulysses and Finnegans Wake and Marcel Proust's Remembrance of Things Past. An armature or outline was established in the first year of work, and the plan when completed will have 420 sections or chapters.
This is a true monument that now needs the support of many contributors to fund its completion and dissemination. Funds will be used to provide for the author's living expenses, update computer equipment and programs, help with editing and research, and create and execute marketing and PR campaigns.
You will have many opportunities to express your generosity, but this project may be your one chance to be part of the building of a monument.
