1000 Reasons to Care

Caring For Camo is a registered 501(c)(3) Non-Profit organization founded and based at The University of Texas at Austin.
Every Fall, we put on a special annual packing party called "1000 Reasons to Care" where we bring together the campus community at UT to create care packages and letters for deployed troops. This party is symbolic of the fact that each box we send typically reaches anywhere from four to fifty troops. With the goal to send 250 boxes at this event, we simply state that we will reach around 1000 troops. This is special because these care packages will typically make it to the troops right around the Holiday season.
For just $10, you can provide the complete set of goods for a box.
For $20, you can ship a box to the troops for the Holidays.
And for $30, you can completely cover the entire cost of a box, goods and shipping.
We are trying to raise an additional $5000 by mid-November in order to hit our total funding required for this event. We would greatly appreciate your support.
As an organization, our goal is to support the men and women of the United States Armed Forces with letters and care packages. Below is a sample of the responses we receive from the troops:
“I cannot express how thankful we are for your support and prayers as we continue our mission. It's people like you that make our hard days and our individual and collective sacrifices worth it. Some of us don't receive anything from home or those who we call family.. Know that you make a difference. Without you and your support we would not be able to do what we do so successfully.”
We accomplish our goal by hosting these packing parties each semester where we invite the Austin and UT community to help us assemble and organize the care packages. Just as a successful event relies on the attendance of the community, our organization relies on the donations of hardworking people like you. We believe that our freedom comes at a cost and that the investment made in our troops’ physical well-being and morale is priceless.
