100% Single Father Seeks Help

Donation protected
Hello everyone,
My name is James Toner II, I'm a %100 full-time single father to a beautiful 6-year old girl named Makayla. About 5-yrs ago I was fortunate enough to gain full custody of Makayla.

I've returned to school two years ago to work towards providing a better life for us, follow my dream pursuing a career in psychology, and provide Makayla with a proper role model. She's a very intelligent loving, caring child. I've had to overcome many challenges that come with raising a little girl. Needing to put aside any feelings that arise with many men when it comes to doing things like braiding hair, clothes shopping for dresses and playing with barbies.

I have a natural passion for science, leading towards astronomy. So much so that I started an astronomy club for middle and high school students. Here I volunteer my time to discuss the Cosmo and do science-based projects with the kids. It's very rewarding seeing the amazement in the face of the children as we gaze deep into the night sky.

Fortunate enough to have maintained a full-time hourly paid job working on the facilities team at a private school has allowed me to stay afloat this far. Having had to need to work overtime as a way to sustain.  Since returning to community college I've not been able to work any overtime. Causing my yearly net income to become significantly lower. It's been very hard to make it even until the next paycheck. My college tuition has been mainly covered by the Pell Grant. This semester will be my last semester at the community college having had obtained enough credits for my associate's degree. This is great news of course and I'm very happy about this while at the same time scared. Scared because I've no idea how I'm going to afford to go to Rutgers University to obtain my undergraduate degree and thereafter graduate school. Six months ago having to of taken out a loan to get my car fixed. Having the same problem with my engine happening just a couple weeks ago rendering my engine completely broken. Now, I've no vehicle and am fortunate enough to be able to borrow a car to get to work but that's only temporary. On top of this, I have medical bills to pay for and my daughters' expenses become increasingly higher as she gets older. I'm looking for some help monetarily from my community members to help me get through until I can graduate and get a better paying job/career. If not, I may be forced to have to drop out of college so that I can work overtime just to get by. My time is spent on going to work and school, that's it! I've no social life besides volunteering my time with the students. I'm a dedicated father and student. Asking for help like this is not an easy thing to do and it would mean the absolute world to me if I could gain your support. Thank you very much, best wishes,
James Toner II
