1 Street At A Time Foundation www.1streetatatime.org  or www.facebook.com/onestreetatatime is a community and data driven Non-Profit founded in February of 2017 to promote child education, create economic opportunities for disadvantaged youths and ensure a well-informed citizenry in all communities we operate. Our first targeted community is in Latrikunda, The Gambia, West Africa.
We taka a research and data-driven approach to understand the challenges of each community by visiting individual households to calculate literacy and unemployment rates. We successfuly completed this exercise in our first targeted community and the results from 2 blocks, 7 streets and 58 households were shocking. 33 out of 304 children ages 5 -18 years are not in school (11% illiteracy rate) and 97 out of  196 youths ages 19-35 years  are unemployed and not pursuing higher education (67% unemployment rate).

With your generosity, your donation would be used to educate a child, pay tuition ($350 a year) for a youth to gain a degree or certificate in their selected field of studies. We will update our finances and activities  on our website every month so you know how your money is being spent and see it's impact.
