Zuri & Dani's Yoga Teacher Training

Passionate about making the practice and benefits of health and wellness accessible to people of color, and having been accepted to Modo/Moksha International's yoga teacher training, we, Zuri Adele and Danielle LeNoir have decided to lay the foundation for a continued scholarship. This is a first of many steps in fostering more tolerance, negative stereotype erasure, and community healing on and off the mat.
In the United States, out of 124 Modo/Moksha Yoga instructors, only 14 of those instructors are people of color. The numbers are even more scarce in the 60+ Moksha studios in Canada.
With your donations and our hard work, we can embark upon this training and return to provide classes led to music that moves us, healing forums for underserved communities, university workshops, and international retreats with your name on the guest lists.
Here's the breakdown (because we are in this together):
$6,600-tuition for two students
$1,700- room & board for two students
$1,100- travel costs for two students
By donating to our continued education, not only do you set yourself up for some incredible prize packages from our sponsors (Modo Yoga LA , SoulCycle , Crossfit High Five, private instructors, etc.) you have a direct hand in making the benefits of yoga more accessible.
So, why Moksha? The Modo/Moksha practice is the most physically sustainable heated practice we have encountered. Furthermore, Modo Yoga LA is where we both work, volunteer, met, fell in love, and continue to be supported by the incredible community of yogis we look forward to teaching.
As if that's not enough, the studio has a global reach (over 70 studios worldwide), and will afford us the opportunity to teach this international student body upon our return.
