Zuko's Medical Expenses

In August 2016, I walked into a pet store in Angola, NY, and asked if I could see their lizards. The clerk took me back to their lizards, and as soon as I walked up, one tiny orange bearded dragon ran up to the front of the tank, looked at me, and tilted his head to the side, as if to say, "So, mom, when are we going home?" Zuko chose me that day, and I've loved having him for the past two years.

Unfortunately, Zuko has recently developed some health problems, and a trip to the vet confirmed that Zuko has a growth in his sinus. The growth is pressing against the back of his eye, it is protruding into the roof of his mouth, and it is partially blocking his airway. He's been having trouble eating and he's in some pretty serious discomfort. The x-ray indicated that it is likely a tumor, but they want to biopsy it just to be sure.

The biopsy itself will be about $300, and the antibiotics, anti-inflammatory medications, and the x-ray have already totaled over $200. Any amount that people could spare would mean the world to me and to Zuko. I just want to give him a fighting chance.

I am a fifth year college student at SUNY Geneseo. I am a Special Education major with a concentration in Natural Science. I work part-time at Starbucks as well as Genesee Graphics in order to save money for groceries and for the several teaching certification exams I have coming up very soon (which are not cheap). I do my best to save up for emergencies like this, but I could use some help.
