Zuczek Family

As many of you know, we most recently lost one of our very own school community members to a tragic and devastating accident. Andre Zuczek, a 15-year-old Samohi Freshmen, passed away from the injuries received while experimenting with a dangerous drug. Andre’s mom wants our Samohi family to know what happened so that parents may be spared from losing a child to drug use. To this end, the family (through a representative) shared the following message:

Andre and a few friends got together on Saturday and tried the drug, acid. Things went badly very quickly, Andre had what is thought to have been a “bad trip,” and fell from a third-floor apartment balcony. He was rushed to the hospital where doctors tried very hard to save him.

We encourage you to talk about Andre with your kids, friends, your family and whoever else provides you support. In sharing, please be aware that hearsay and gossip can be very hurtful and can add more sorrow to the grief we are all feeling at this time.

In an effort to support the family we are asking for your help with medical and burial expenses for Andre.  It is our hope to lighten the financial burden that these expenses will have on the family.  Any support that you can provide will help tremendously and lighten the load that this family is carrying at this time.
