 RAMONA, CA
So as all of you know, my parents have lived in Ramona since I was 3 years old (my entire life). We have only lived in two different houses. When they chose to move in this house, it happened to be less than a mile up the street from our house that we were living in at the time.

My parents loving, giving people and would help anyone in a heartbeat. This is tragic that this has happened, especially 5 days before my wedding. Like.. we aren't running around trying to prepare for this once in a life time event.

San Diego doesn't get much rain EVER. This gave a whole new meaning to "when it rains, it pours". When I got the call from my mom saying that the house was destroyed, I couldn’t believe it. The entire bottom level of the house is ruined. The driveway, the pool, all  of the yard, the garage, the tile in the kitchen, the wood throughout the house, the carpet in the living room, all of the furniture.. Completely ruined. Unfortunately, my dad contacted the insurance and nothing is covered. We lived in San Diego, why would we need flood insurance?

Thankfully we did have friends and family come over and do what they could to dig out some of the mud with a shovel. They dug out tons of mud from the garage and they were able to get my dad’s car out, which is not running so smoothly, due to the mud getting in the engine. The driveway has at least 4 feet of dirt that is now being shoveled out with a machine. We are slowly making progress, but as far as the things that need to be remodeled and replaced.. We need all the help we can get.

If I can get all of you to share and post this, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Hi! It's been a while since I have posted an update. The driveway is clear, the garage doors were replaced, now.. The POOL!.. This has been a long process. Took a couple days to pump out all the muddy water and about 5-6 guys shoveling out mud from a 5-foot pool. About 24hrs to fill the pool back up with water.. And all chemicals are back in there to make it.. A swimming pool again! If you haven't donated or shared the gofundme link, please do! There is still a ton of work to be done. Drywall, carpets.. And they did total my dads car.. So he is now on the hunt for a good vehicle. Take a look at the pool!

So I haven't had a chance to update this since I have been busy with the wedding & honeymoon. But, I have been in contact with my parents everyday to see how the house is coming along. Of course they tell me not to worry about the house.. But of course I am!! They finally got the garage doors replaced and they look great! Slowly but surely it will all look the way it did 3 weeks ago.. Before Dolores hit! Here is another progreas picture! We are so thankful to have such generous friends and family!

Thank you family and friends for continuing to share the gofundme link! We've raised $3,860.00 Since Monday, that's great! When a disaster like this occurs we can really see who our true friends and family are..just by the love, support and kind words. The guys have been putting in work busting their butts daily.. They're exhausted. But, anything to help my parents out because they know they would be there in a heartbeat if anything like this happened to them. I wanted to post a progress picture! Before & after...We can see the driveway now! Hoorayyy!!

Hi Guys! Thank you so much for all your donations! We are doing great! Yesterday the guys attempted the pool clean up but, the pool guy came over and told us he would take care of it. It will be a 3-4 day process though. So as if right now it is still looking like a swap. All the left over mud around the has dried up and we were able to sweep most of it up. The guys were digging away at the grass that used to be by the pool because there is just inches of mud. Scott Perfect came out yesterday and cut out at least 2 ft. of drywall in the kitchen and living room to pull out all wet/muddy insolation. Marcus pressure washed what he could.. Trying to save some of the stuff that was covered in mud that was in the garage. The driveway is no longer covered in 4ft of mud and dirt thanks to Anthony Brown. It's slowly coming along.

I want to thank all the family and friends that have stopped by and brought food over, as the kitchen is sort of under construction. Neighbors around have brought over warm fresh baked goodies, pizzas, and much more. Dawn Perfect has been amazing bringing dinner over 2 days in a row.

Thank you for sharing the gofund me link guys!!

Terrible damage. It is hard to tell in this photo that the mud is at least 3 - 4 feet deep and got into the house and garage.

Sinceramente, Patricia Alvarez

I am very sorry to hear about your parents house. A drought is never a good thing, it's sad how something good can happen (rain) only to have a mudslide occur directly as a result. On a much lighter note, congratulations on getting married tomorrow! Twin Oaks Country Club is a beautiful place to share hands, vows and love in marriage. I wish you both the very best, as well as a very long and prosperous marriage. Ryan Mercer
