Gertie is a 10 yr old Chihuahua that was on her way to the city pound until I took her home. She may be 10 but has lots of life left and is a very spunky girl.
She has an inguinal hernia, very bad teeth and bad luxating patellas in both legs...this is when the knee cap pops out of the groove it sits in. Her right patella doesn't sit in the groove at all and the left pops out constantly.
Her knees are so bad thay she can't do stairs, she can't run eventhough she tries and wags her tail the whole time when I come home. When she's on the couch, she scoots around to move.
She needs surgery to fix the worse knee first along with the hernia and her teeth. I'm short $500 and any donation will help. Gertie is a very happy little old girl and would be happier if she could walk better.
