Zoey's Dancing Dream

My life’s passion is ballet.  My name is Zoey Frank and I am 15 years old. I have been dancing my entire life. My mom says I was dancing during the ultrasound when she was pregnant!  I have studied all kinds of dance but when I began ballet, that was it: I fell in love! Dance, and ballet in particular, is the core of who I am.  I dance everywhere I go! I devote most of my time to ballet. The ballet studio is my second home. I love how expressive ballet is and I like to be able to express myself without speaking.  It feels good to always be working towards something and ballet has helped me to channel my focus productively. Best of all, dancing brings me joy and makes me feel free!


My dream is to be in a ballet company that performs all over the world!


As a ballet dancer, I want to take every opportunity that comes my way.  Summer intensives are very beneficial for ballerinas. They give you the opportunity to train with the top ballet instructors.  For the past four years, I have dreamed of going to the Jillana Summer Intensive in New Mexico.  Jillana is known not only for her legendary dancing with George Balanchine, but also as an amazing and thoughtful teacher.  I auditioned and was accepted!!!


My parents are divorced. My mother is always working really hard to take care of me and support me with my journey; but the summer intensive, travel expenses and pointe shoes  are  just too expensive for us.


I am so excited to go away for the summer because I get to dance all day!!!  I get to learn with the best teachers, get stronger, make new friends and meet people who are like minded.


This is a great opportunity.  It means the world to me. I thank you from my heart in advance, for helping me fulfill my dream!
