Zoe Zambia Orphans Outreach Trip

In the Chipata region of Zambia is an outreach programme called Zoe Zambia, who work with the chief of the region to support young orphans and their carer to enter the education system and provide a good chance at life. They also provide water holes for the villages and support to create fruitful farming areas nearby; these in turn are provision for the villages and provide a great source for commodities like ginger which can be sold at local markets.
I felt drawn to join a trip visiting the Zoe Zambia projects and stepped out in faith to go. The trip involves me leaving on the 22nd May for two weeks. Whilst in Zambia I will get involved with visiting the orphans and reporting on their wellbeing and schooling, which will be a wonderful opportunity to see what needs they have. I am super excited to visit the school and take a few books and bits of equipment along as they have very few pieces in the classroom. I always had a bit of a dream to be a teacher, so I think this bit appeals to my heart!!
As a stay at home Mummy, this trip felt massively unachievable, but my wonderful husband paved the way by taking the time off work and is eagerly looking forward to looking after the children whilst I'm away. The hard bit is financially covering the trip, but I'm absolutely certain I have been called for this work and so trusting that the rest will come.
The support means that I will be able to raise awareness of the charity from first hand accounts and photos, this means in the long run that more children will be supported, more provision for such things as water holes and essential school equipment, etc. I would love to be a part of blessing those that need it, to provide a long term goal of educating orphaned children who may not otherwise get a chance to go to school.
