Charlie's Home in the City

Donation protected
I have come to realize that I must live, at least in the winter, in an urban setting since I am living alone at age 70.
I have been homeless and living in a small unit (single room occupancy) while attending college.  Recently I noticed a small home the city had up for a request for a proposal and I put in a bid of a $1111.11 but it also needs rehab work of about $18,000 on the inside.  I would hope to do it for less with my own sweat equity.

Many people have asked me to set up a gofundme site to reach this goal.  I must show some assurance that I have access to funds so I can obtain the loans and rehab this house.

It wuld have a smaller area for winter living, about the size I now live in, and tow other larger rooms for use in the warmer months of the year.  It is on a bus line and part of the house was built in circa 1860.  I want to obtain this home for myself so I will be off the section 8 subsidy and a home owner in Springfield, MA.

Then, once I have done this, I hope to start an entity to assist others to go from homeless to becomng home owners and active participants in their city or town and use the abandoned and vacant housing stock that city or town has as the houes we would rehab with the person's "sweat equity" and other assistance.  This is sort of like a community "barn raseing" of years ago.

Plese consider helping me with this project, and then later others to get solid housing in this city and help make it a even better place to live in.
