Gray Matters - Laurie’s Medical Expenses

3 months ago our sister-in-law Laurie was diagnosed with stage 4 glioblastoma, an extremely aggressive tumor in the brain. Laurie is a devoted mother to her 2 boys Adam and Anthony Salvati, her daughter-in-law Patti, and a devoted grandmother to her 4 young grandchildren. Laurie has run her own home daycare for over 20 years where many children grew up and can say they still remember the amazing playground Laurie provided. Unfortunately now that she is fighting brain cancer, she is unable to continue to work which has begun to cause a financial hardship for her and her husband Mike due to medical bills not covered by insurance. Our family has known Laurie for close to 50 years and during that time she has become not just a sister-in-law, but a sister. Laurie has always been there for us and for anyone else who has ever needed her, always with a smile on her face. We would love to now help her alleviate any financial burden we are able to as medical bills continue to pile up, so that Laurie can continue to battle this disease with a clear mind to be better able to focus on treatment and getting better.
