Reducing Single-Use Plastics in Indonesia
You may have heard of the plastic problem in Indonesia. An endless stream of plastic is accumulating and leaking into the environment and the world's ocean at an alarming rate. In Jakarta, 70% of waste ends up in South East Asia's biggest landfill.
Plastic has become deeply integrated into people's daily routines and is seen widely as a necessity in Indonesia.
What if we were to change these routines and make them single-use plastic-free? Let's start with the one that every person in Jakarta partakes in regularly: laundry.
We are team IN.Pact and our vision is to enable people in Jakarta to clean their clothes without the use of single-use plastic.
During the last two months, we found that many laundry services are small family businesses with a day-to-day mindset, without the financial means to invest in sustainable solutions. Therefore, we are developing a solution that presents them with financial security and omits the need for detergent packaging... a refill service!
We are now testing and validating a detergent refill service. But we need your help in crossing the finish line. We need to build high-quality prototypes and run long-term tests. Support us to get this service implemented by early February!
For every laundry shop that will be reached by our solution, we will be able to save about 22 thousand low-value plastic sachets and 360 plastic packaging containers from being used every year!
Let's invest together in a zero-waste future!
A great thank you for every amount you will invest in our project, but...
for 15€ you get our eternal gratitude
for 50 € you collect valuable Karma points
and for investments over 200€, we will prepare a special 'Thank you' surprise!
