Zelda's Recovery Fund

As many of you know, we are home to three rescue kitties. February of 2016, baby Zelda joined our family as my Valentine's Day surprise to my husband, Mitchell.
Almost two years old now, Zelda took an accidental tumble from our balcony last week. What should have been a minor fall was quite traumatic.
Realizing she was missing, Mitchell began a frantic search for her. He finally stepped outside and heard her cry from the bottom level of our complex.
The emergency vet originally diagnosed her with a dislocated knee that would require surgery to screw her joints back together. During surgery they realized the damage was much worse than originally anticipated. She had to have her MCL, PCL, and medial meniscus entirely removed and artificially reconstructed.
The following day the splint they fastened on her did not function as it was suppose to, and she had to be re-sedated and re-casted. She was recasted each day following.
One week later we were allowed to take her home.
For the next eight weeks, we will have to go in every week for her to be re-casted, re-x-rayed, and re-examined to make sure that a second surgery is not neccessary. They are still considering an external fixator.
I know $3,500.00 seems like quite a lot of money that we are hoping to raise, but this $3,500 will cover the first surgery that she had, as well as the eight castings to be done over the next month and a half. More specifically it will cover her initial emergency vet visit, the surgery to re-locate and place screws in her leg, multiple sedations, the medicine she recieved while in veterinary care, as well as the medicine she has to daily take while she is now home, a special medical crate we had to purchase, and daily fees for residing in veterinary care.
Though Mitchell and I are both working full time jobs, this is an expense far outside our current financial ability.
Our goal is to raise $3,500 over the next eight weeks, so that we can afford the final vet bill.
Thank you for all of your support, concerns, and prayers. Our kitties are our children. You all know how that goes.
Best,
the Watsons
