Zech Carson's Spinal Cord Injury

Zech was paralyzed in 1993 at his homecoming football game in the Florida Keys. He was a a multi faceted, talented athlete and played receiver, kick off return specialist, and linebacker. He was playing linebacker at the time of his injury, He went in for a tackle and the halfback  broke his C4 vertebra. Zech was airlifted to Ryder Trauma Center. He endured a 10 hour surgery to repair his neck and spine. He was paralyzed. The medical team did not have the current technolgy and systems to heal his signifcant spine inury in the early 90's. Zech spent his entire senior year in Jackson memorial hospital performing  6 months of rehab. He is a C5 incomplete quadriplegic and has been hurt for 23 years! But he is a warrior. He has lived here in Key Largo for 41 years and is a pillar of the community. He graduated from ICS, obtained his AA from FKCC , and graduated with his Bachelor's Degree from Florida Liberty University. He has been an intregal part of his local family business since his early teens. 

When I first relocated to Key Largo, Zech was one of the first people I met, I was a "fish out of water." Zech was kind enough to provide me numerous resources to settle in, learn the island lifestyle, and assimilate into our small community. Zech predicates his life on helping others. Now it is time to help him! Zech is one of the most positive, optimistic person you will ever meet in spite of his injury and confinement.
He has the opportunity to  have an experimental, yet proven surgery to repair his spine and paralyasis. It is very possible for Zech to regain multiple functions. I urge all of my friends to meet Zech in person and donate whatever you can. His major surgery will cost almost $95,000! Please friends help us get there. I truly appreciate even a dollar.
