Connie's Medical Journey

Connie Benna is a mom, grandma and  friend to many. She is a very loving and caring woman, who is always willing to help anyone she meets. She has been struggling now for 5 years with pain. This pain has interrupted a lot of her daily activities, things she took for granted when feeling well; such as driving, walking and even cooking. She has had many sleepless nights fighting pain.
Through all these years she has had a long medical journey of seeing doctor after doctor. She has visited specialists all over Missouri. All of this with the help of her amazing husband, Mike, who would do anything for her. Together they have become exhausted with not getting any answers as to what could be causing her life altering pain.
Finally one year ago she was given a partial diagnosis of small fiber neuropathy. She was told they do not know the underlying cause, as she has some other undiagnosed problems that may be stemming from or causing the small fiber neuropathy. Still no answers or treatment for the pain. Just last week one of her doctors referred her to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota where she is sure to find some answers. She received a call from them today and thankfully they want to see her in 3 weeks! This is amazing and she is very excited, hoping soon this will all be over and she can live pain free again. Because they have so little time to prepare and save we are starting this page in hopes to alleviate some of the financial burden.
