Zack Attack Hats
Hey everyone! Zack Attack Hats is back! As some of you may know last year I conducted Zack Attack Hats for my senior project. Essentially, the project was a way to help raise awareness for childhood cancer and help boost the morale/happiness of children currently afflicted by this awful disease while honoring my late best friend, Zack Mayo.
The project was such a huge success, so much of a success that we have decided to make it an annual fundraiser every year around the holidays.
Basically, "Zack Attack Hats", is a fundraiser in honor of Zack Mayo, my lifelong best buddy who lost his fight to childhood cancer in 2011. While Zacks life was short lived, he impacted so many people in a positive manner and brought so much joy to this world. In efforts to honor him and show how his life had significance on so many individuals, Zack Attack Hats helps those currently fighting child hood cancer.
The projects main goal is to collect as many hats as possible for children battling childhood cancer. This might seem silly or like it has little impact on a fight as huge as theirs but it helps significantly! A tiny hat can help boost the morale of kids and help inspire them to push on, it shows people have their support and have their back. It creates a huge amount of positivity in these childrens life's.
You might be wondering, "so where do I come in?". You can help by either donating money to this gofundme or bringing hats into the donation box located at Omni Eye Specialists (818 B Pine Grove Drive, Wilmington, North Carolina). Once the gofundme campaign is over we will then take the money donated and use this to buy hats for the patients at UNC Childrens Hospital.
The hats have to be NEW and CLEAN, as this is crucial for the kids health concerns. They also cannot be mesh hats (stocking caps or beanies are acceptable!). Some popular themes for hats are anything disney related, sports (UNC, Panthers, State, Duke caps), or anything fun and cool.
This fundraiser was a huge success last year and had a significant impact on a lot of sick kids lifes.
