Hello everyone! Kansas City Poetry Slam is so excited to announce that we have formed a killer team to bring to the National Poetry Slam happening in Chicago, IL in August 2018! We have worked so hard to get here. Not to mention, this is the first time Kansas City Poetry Slam has ever sent a team to Nationals. So, this is BIG!
Making it on a slam team means hours of practicing poems, memorizing them for competitions, and showing extreme commitment to Kansas City Poetry Slam and the KC poetry community and as a whole. After a season of preparations, they have finally made it!
This year, the team members going to Chicago are: Darrien Case, Asia Raine, Abby Bland, Samantha Slupski, and Korso.
We are very excited to start our journey to Chicago to represent the Kansas City poetry community, but we need some help getting there.
This $1500 will help us pay for lodging, travel costs, and help pay for meals while in Chicago. We would greatly appreciate it if you contributed to sending Kansas City Poetry Slam's FIRST EVER slam team to Nationals!

We will be holding an additional fundraiser in Kansas City on June 6th during Kansas City Poetry Slam at Uptown Arts Bar. If you'd like to see what the team is working on, join us that night at 9pm! All funds collected at the door will be for the team.
