Thank you everyone for your thoughts, prayers and support in this challenging time for the Drake family.
As you may know, Jonathan Drake went into cardiac arrest in the early hours of Friday morning. He has had outstanding doctors who did their very best to revive him and Jon put up an amazing fight on his own part. However, after several tests it is clear that his current condition cannot be reversed and continues to deteriorate. He is expected to pass shortly. Family and friends have filled the ICU waiting room, sharing their favorite stories about Jonnie, and taking turns saying goodbye.
This has been a huge shock for everyone, and not one his family was prepared for financially. Jon does not have life insurance, and typical funeral costs can easily run over $10,000. Additionally, Jon leaves behind his 11 year old son, little Jon aka the "Beast". He's a really good kid, and handling this with a remarkable amount of courage. The Drake family is determined to do the best for little Jon, in the absence of his father. Growing up without the emotional support of a father will be incredibly difficult. And the costs of raising a child are enormous. It is our hope to ease some of the financial burden that lies ahead.
We are all truly heart-sickened over this. Jon made friends wherever he went. People were naturally drawn in by his outgoing, hilarious and sometime silly personality. At times like these, it is easy to feel frustrated by not being able to help a loved one. But there is something you can do. Friends, Family and those with a generous heart… Please donate whatever you can spare, to ease the cost of Jon’s funeral, and support his son on the difficult road he has in front of him.
