Lucy Norwood's Medical Stroke Fund

Donation protected
Hi my name is Moira, and I'm Lucy's older sister.
Lucy was  fun, athletic and an extremely astute student with schooling, but it all ended way too soon for her.
Lucy suffered an Ischaemic stroke in 1992, at 14 years of age, following a blow to her left carotid artery, in a swimming pool.
Six months post, she then suffered a Haemorrhagic stroke, whilst undergoing surgery to have this clot removed.
The effects from the haemorrhagic stroke, were very much life changing.
Effects range from chronic cognitive impairment, hemiparesis (right side), walking impairment, although ambulatory with a "walk aid", no assistance by person required.
What followed in the next years were hellish amounts of exercise, pain staking medications to alter her brain pattern to prevent Grand Mal seizures, and acceptance by us all that Lucy would never be the same again. She eventually learned to walk again, eat on her own again, while keeping a positive in every pain or obstacle that enveloped her. She was a fighter and was not going to allow her broken body to beat her. Lucy is now 38 years old,  but continues to soldier on with her disabilities.
Lucy, her other sister Monica and I heard about the drug Enbrel on a 60 minute episode, last year. We were so keen to put what little funds we had together to enable Lucy some better quality of life, and receive the magic injection, but were stopped due to the extensive costings involved.
Please help us get our sister to this address:

Institute of Neurological Recovery
INR PLLC
2300 Glades Road, Suite 305E
Boca Raton, Florida 33431

Without the aid of Enbrel , Lucy faces a continued life of sheer struggle, both mentally, physically and emotionally.
Please help us get our beautiful sister to Florida, to give her some quality of life. We all deserve it that's for sure.
