Bacani Mission in Panama

Aloha all,
Evan and I have been blessed with an incredible opportunity to be apart of the discipleship training school in Outpost Panama in the Bocas del Toro Archipelago. We both recently graduated from college with degrees in Communication and Philosophy. Neither of us really had a clear vision as to why these were the majors that we chose, but God definitely had a plan for us all along. We will be venturing to the Islands of Central America on September 26th(shortly after our wedding on September 8th) and will be spending three months in training and three months on mission, to an unknown location, until March 14th.
We will be on mission with the non-profit organization known as YWAM or Youth With A Mission. The island is home to one of the five indigenous tribes of Panama, the Ngobe Indians! It is also only a single days sail away to over 50 different villages. This allows us the benefit of living and learning amongst the villagers. The people are hunters and gatherers and have no medical, dental, pharmaceutical or midwife assistance on the islands.
Thanks to our training we will be able to help with medical assistance, distribute bibles, provide showings of the Jesus film, and help the Ngobe people with water treatment options. We will also sail with groups of other self-funded volunteers to bring hope to the Ngobe Indians as well as other isolated people of the Panama Islands. The people will also help to broaden our perspective as we gain understanding of their ways and are able to share ideas with them about the wonderful knowledge of our Creator. We will be living just as the people in the surrounding area do as we catch our own rainwater, use solar power for our electricity and rely on boats for travel.
God truly brought Evan and I together and He will be the one who sustains us. My prayer to our good Lord was that He would bless me with a man that I could worship and glorify Him with better together than I could apart or with anyone else. I am eternally grateful for the daily gift that Evan is in my life and we are so stoked to overflow Gods love onto the people of this world until His glory comes or our days end. We will go when He tells us to go, and stay when He tells us to stay. We want to thank each and every one of you ahead of time for coming along side us with your support in prayer and finances as you allow the Spirit to provide for us through you!
