Yvette's Lung Transplant

Donation protected
This is Yvette.   She needs new lungs desperately.   Yvette has Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD).    This disease has decreased her lung function to only 38%.   She is a vibrant  43 year old woman who was considering her next chapter in life when this disease began to scar her lungs and decrease her ability to enjoy life.   It happened so quickly that, seemingly, out of nowhere,  she could no longer travel, go to concerts, basketball games or just hang out with friends.   Among some of the things she wants to do in life... she wants to be a teacher and a foster mom, and she wants to travel to Dubai!

But she needs oxygen constantly lately.   Everyday her ILD is progressing and decreasing her lung function less and less.   She was fairly stable until just recently.   One day, she went to her lung doctor for a 6 minute walking test so she could qualify for a 10 liter oxygen machine. After the test, she went home and laid down. She woke up to walk to the restroom and she lost consciousness and had to be rushed to the ER.   Passing out, or fainting, is very common with this disease.    Oxygen levels below 90 can start to damage your other organs and is very dangerous.   And because of the decrease in her lung function, Yvette also now has been diagnosed with life threatening Congestive Heart Failure from her heart working so much harder to compensate. She often has chest pains and much difficulty keeping her oxygen levels up even with just talking.

Yvette needs to get on the lung transplant list as soon as possible!  But in order to get added to the list, she needs to have at least $10,000 in the bank.     Anti rejection drugs are expensive in the U.S. Having at least $10,000 will help cover some of the costs after the lung transplant including anti-rejection medications, money to pay 3 full time caregivers for 30 days, and transportation to and from appointments for 90 days after the transplant.    Yvette needs more than $10,000 funding to get her through the next few months while trying to get on the lung transplant list.     Her current out of pocket costs are several hundred dollars a month.   And as you can imagine, she cannot work to save this money on her own.   As part of Yvette's support team, I am asking for your help to reach our $15,000 goal to get Yvette on the Transplant list for new lungs.

She needs to get on the list sooner rather than later before her lungs have decreased to only 10%  and then she would be too sick for a transplant.    Please help us if you can.    We are asking for anything you can afford to help us reach this goal.
