Yvan Tamba College Tuition

On behalf of Yvan Tamba, my wife and I have started this GoFundMe page to help this amazing young man complete his college degree.
We befriended Yvan about 4 years ago. He had just come to the USA from Cameroon, Africa at the age of 18 to pursue a college degree.
One of the first things Yvan did when he arrived in Atlanta, was look for a church that he could be a part of and worship on Sundays. He has a very strong faith and actually found our church of St. Jude the Apostle in Sandy Springs Ga. by getting on a bus in front of his house and riding until he saw a Catholic Church - and he got off the bus and came in. Although our church was not the closest church to him, it was the only one he could get to as he did not have personal transportation. Most Sundays he walks the 15 miles to church.
That is how we met him and he has been part of our family since then.
After one year in the States, he was able to get a working visa. From this point forward, he devoted his time to working, and studying with occasional sleep. His earnings as a waiter enabled him to support himself, start saving money, and pay his sister a little money for what she did for him.
While attending Perimeter college, his study habits earned him the STEM Student Academic Achievement Award in recognition of his exceptional scholastic ability. In 2019, upon completion of the Regents Engineering Pathway Program, he was accepted into Georgia Tech University as a junior majoring in computer engineering. His dream, to get the best education possible in the Untied States, had come true.
Yvan is here on a Student Visa. Three years ago, he applied for a green card expecting it to be awarded during a three-year period. He has not received the green card. Therefore, because he is a student on a Visa, he must pay out-of-state tuition and is not eligible for any financial support from the University. Although he qualifies for several grants, he can't benefit from them because they are not offered to non-residents. All of these barriers were unexpected.
Outside Support is desperately needed to help with his tuition. No amount is too small. Your help is truly appreciated by all of us who love and admire Yvan!
