Hi everyone, I really need your help!
For the last 2 years I have put my heart and soul into creating and maintaining this unique beautiful, energizing space, a yurt based in a warehouse within the Boneyard community in Canton, Cardiff.
Yurt in the City has become a haven of tranquility and stillness in the heart of Cardiff, where people feeling the pressures and strains of life come to relax and let go. My clients who attend for therapies and the many people who attend the workshops at the yurt love the space and really appreciate the beautiful energy that is there. The Yurt is used by many different groups including weekly meditation and yoga classes, monthly gong baths, shamanic workshops and support groups for therapists. I am now facing the reality that I may need to close the yurt due to problems around noise. Noise has always been a niggling issue as the warehouse has a large open roof space and noise from outside the space becomes amplified and can at times disrupt sessions. As the Yurt and the Bone Yard get busier this has become a regular problem that I cannot ignore, and unfortunately it puts the long term existence of the Yurt at risk.
I remain optimistic and am hoping to raise £3500 to enable me to insulate the warehouse from the sounds that are now penetrating the Yurt and disrupting sessions with clients. The walls need to be built from the floor to the roof of the warehouse with professional acoustic materials to ensure no noise pollution seeps into my space. Any monies left over will go towards building a small waiting room within the warehouse to keep my clients warm in the colder months. The Yurt is a complete holistic retreat, quiet and calming, and what makes it so special for therapists and clients alike is the peace, stillness and sounds not always heard in the city such as bird song. I'm very passionate about the Yurt and it's future development, therefore I would really appreciate any financial help you could donate to help me keep the yurt running.
