Yuba City Drill Team 2018/2019

Yuba City High School Brown and Gold Brigade and Drill Team is starting the competitive winter guard season and looking forward to a great year. The team is doing great and has high hopes for competing in the California Color Guard Circuit and performing at Universal CityWalk. This will be the first time our Drill Team has done either!
Organizations, such as, the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) and the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM), have compiled volumes of research that highlight the benefits of participating in a structured music education program as a student. Stated and proved benefits include improved reading and math/reasoning abilities, higher standardized test scores, increased socialization skills, a broader sense of global awareness, increased self-regulatory behaviors, and a marked difference in leadership capabilities.
Unfortunately, the staff and equipment necessary to maintain this organization has become quite extensive and expensive. The school district is able to provide rehearsal space and the staff to run the program, but it is by the tireless efforts of our Parents, Coaches, and Flag Club that all additional funds needed are raised through fundraising activities and events throughout the year.
Our group has five total performances in Northern and Southern California. These performances include competitions in and a performance on Universal CityWalk, front and center on the amazing 5 Towers Stage, featuring thousands of LED lights, a giant video screen and a state-of-the-art audio system.
As we pursue personal and ensemble goals, perform and compete in statewide competitions, and become the leaders of tomorrow, we ask that you choose to be part of the excitement, by assisting our Boosters and Clubs with your financial donations and continued support. The cost of this program is more than $12,000. All support is tax-deductible and greatly appreciated. 100% of all funds raised will go directly to the music program and are tax deductible.
