Help Martha Fight Cancer!
Most of you may know that our mother, Martha Temple, was diagnosed with colon cancer in September. Three weeks ago we were hit with more unfortunate news regarding the severity of her cancer. What we thought would be a surgery to remove a portion of her colon has progressed to a diagnosis of Stage 3 cancer with the need for chemotherapy treatments for the next 6-8 months. In addition, to this news, we are also awaiting MRI results after finding nodules on her lungs and spots on her kidney.
Our hardship has been compounded by the news that her present insurance will only cover her until March. Simultaneously, our father's company has fallen on hard times, in part due to the focus and attention needed to identify the full depth of her illness and to bring her through surgery and its lengthy recovery.
Due to various circumstances, our father will no longer be able to sustain a salary from his business. As you can imagine, this complicates an already challenging and difficult situation.
This difficult diagnosis has caught our family off guard and has left a deep emotional scar. As a family we are extremely close and as a team we have worked together to meet the challenges of a new routine which consists of frequent doctor visits, meal preparations, housework, and so much more. We could not be more blessed to have a strong support system within our family. As you can imagine, it’s been a tough road and we know that there is still a long way to go.
Our parents have exhausted every avenue to bring stability to their situation and now they are in a position of needing to humbly seek financial help from others. Any dollar amount would be helpful and also appreciated. We'd like to make an appeal to those whose lives have been touched by Martha’s generous and giving spirit. Many of you know Martha to be a rock of strength as well as a tremendously sacrificial person. Some of you may have even been a recipient of that compassion and tenderness. Your support and prayers are appreciated and needed at this time.
