Youth Exposure Tour
Tax deductible
Exposing youth from poor, underserved communities to opportunities that exist outside their ordinary circumstances, through mentorship initiatives, prepares them for life's challenges as adults, while simultaneously enabling them to positively contribute to their community and the society as a whole.
Four years ago, the Pyramid Project Youth Organization brought 6 young boys from the Mississippi Delta to spend a week in Washington, DC during our annual Youth Exposure Tour, to learn firsthand about the government, corporate and community dynamics, history, historical sites and to broaden their horizon during once-in-a-lifetime, weeklong stay in the nation’s capital.
Since our initial trip, we have grown from initially serving 6 boys from the Mississippi Delta to serving more than 100 boys and girls from the District of Columbia, Mississippi, Maryland, Virginia, New York and Texas
The Pyramid Project empowers youth with practical strategies, solutions, resources, and tools, to cultivate youth leadership skills through extraordinary, interactive professional mentorship initiatives as well as government, private and public sector, university and community experiences.
Over the past few summers, through church donations and community events, these underserved communities had raised thousands of dollars to support summer trips to the nation’s capital. Our goal is to now raise at least $30,000 over the next 12 months which will help ensure 2o students from underserved, poverty-stricken communities are able to participate in the Summer 2019 trip.
