Who I am:
My name is Kimi Pike, and I am an early childhood educator in Phoenix, AZ. I completed my Masters in Early Childhood Education from Arizona State University in May 2015, and have been teaching preschool through 2nd grade since 2010. I have taught in Chiang Mai, Thailand, Phoenix, Arizona, and Southern California.
My dream is to one-day have multiple high-quality preschools that not only greatly service and enrich the lives of its own students, but also help provide young children in third-world and developing nations throughout the world with quality care and education.
What I am Funding:
To acheive my ultimate goal of philanthropically motivated tuition-based preschools, I would like to open a daycare facility in my own home in Ahwatukee, Phoenix, AZ as the first step in the aforementioned direction.
My projected start date is June 20, 2016.
Why Preschool?:
When I started teaching in preschool, and I began to be mentored by experienced, passionate educators, I saw just how critical the first 5 years of a child's life are. So many foundational steps take place during this time, and it is important to have educators who understand the most important skills children need to develop, and to help guide and nurture their overall development in the most appropriate ways.
