Brittany is a young wife to an amazing, supportive man and a mother to a beautiful little boy. Brittany married Chris, the love of her life back in 2011 and shortly after, they purchased their first home together in Murrieta, CA. In 2013, Brittany and Chris decided to extend their little family, by bringing a beautiful little boy into this world. Since then, Brittany has been a stay at home mother, taking care of their son and making memories with her family.
Brittany has been suffering from extreme headaches for the past few years. Recently, her headaches have been getting more extreme and almost impossible to deal with. On October 7, 2016, Brittany went to the hospital to be treated for her severe headaches, dizziness, and vomiting. She went through a routine CT scan, ordered by the ER doctor, to rule out a brain aneurysm. During the scan, it was discovered that Brittany had three tumors growing on her cerebellum.
Brittany was then transferred to another hospital where she underwent surgery on October 11, 2016 to remove and biopsy the largest tumor on her brain. Initial testing lead the neurosurgeon to believe that the tumor was lymphoma.
Subsequent tests revealed that the tumors were, in fact, medulloblastoma – an extremely rare form of cancer that accounts for less than one percent of all adult cancers. Medulloblastoma is most successfully treated by removing as much of the tumor as safely as possible, followed by both radiation and chemotherapy treatments. During her recovery from her first brain surgery, Brittany was readmitted to the hospital on November 1, 2016 to undergo an additional surgery. Unfortunately, just two days later, the doctor had to perform a third brain surgery.
Since then, Brittany has been recovering at home with her husband and young child. On December 6, 2016, Brittany began both the radiation and chemotherapy phase of treatment. Radiation treatment is scheduled to continue for 6 weeks and the chemotherapy is expected to take approximately 1 year to complete.
Chris is a hardworking police officer who has been on leave from work to support & stand by his wife and their little boy during this most difficult and tragic time. They have just received their first medical bill from the first initial surgery, which after insurance was billed, still cost almost $30,000. This is just the beginning of bills that they will be receiving for Brittany’s extensive surgeries and treatment plan. Our family is going through possibly the utmost tragic and devastating time and we appreciate all of help, love, support, and positive prayers that come our way.
Brittany is a loving, compassionate and remarkable woman who has always been there to help her family or anyone that is in need. She has always had a love and passion for animals and fosters young kittens until they are able to find their forever homes. She is a loving mother and wife who loves to volunteer at the library in her spare time. Brittany is never one to ask for help, she is always there for others and never asks for a single thing in return. As her cousin, I am starting this fund hopeful that we will receive love and support during this heartbreaking and crucial time in our lives. Brittany is a strong, beautiful, and selfless woman. She is a fighter and deserves to live a long, blissful, healthy life with Chris and their handsome young son.
