Yong's Cancer Support Fund

A USNA Midshipman’s family can really use your support. Midshipman Juliana Yun’s father is seriously ill. In early February 2018, Yong Yun was diagnosed with advanced stage 4 prostate cancer with lymph node and bone metastasis. The cancer is characterized as early-onset and rapidly-spreading, and by the time Yong was diagnosed it had already spread throughout most of his body. Due to the weakening of his bones and a painfully large tumor in his neck, he had to stop working.

Yong is a wonderful, loving father who has worked tirelessly for his family. He once ran a small business with his wife, working 15 hours a day for 7 years, but the recession in 2008 slowly drained funds and has left his family with no savings to fall back on. The doctor believes overwork was a huge factor in the rapid spread of the cancer.

Because he only recently started radiation treatments and chemotherapy, the family doesn’t know the full extent of his medical expenses. Another critical issue is meeting monthly living expenses. Yong and his family need help covering living expenses for one year. After that year, his daughter who will graduate from the United States Naval Academy will support the family.

Yong has a tough journey ahead, and we’ve set up this fund to help him and his family. Supporting them with whatever you can give, whether with prayers or donations, would be greatly appreciated. With financial assistance, Yong and his family can focus on recovery and becoming stronger.
