THE YOGINI PROJECT - SUMMER 2018

$6,279 of $12,500 goal

YOGINI PROJECT NOW - SUMMER FUNDRAISER 2018

The Yogini Project is expanding this summer!  After 6 years of groundbreaking media releases from film to interviews to art projects in support of women in Buddhist practice, inspiration of millions through our social media channels, and extensive platform building, this summer is a threshold for the project, a coming of age.  As we prepare for our endgame depth projects - our film on women on the path around the globe and our Yogini Fund to support women in dedicated retreat - we have this year refined thoroughly our platform that has been built with love these past many years to prepare for an extension of our profound interview series, a powerful film project, and our upcoming Yogini Fund to support women in retreat for generations to come.

Current foundational elements from extending our team, new equipment, and platform enhancements are essential for us to take our next steps forward this autumn.  We are cresting a wave of benefit and invite you to join us on this exciting adventure that daily touches and transforms lives around the world.

Please support today.

WHAT THE YOGINI PROJECT IS HERE FOR

What we seek with our interviews and all our media is to provide encouragement for women either already committed to practice or just being introduced and encountering the Dharma for the first time to have examples of women who are manifesting the fruits of the practice without needing a limelight to authenticate their qualities. Their qualities are inherent in themselves and their practice - which is precisely where all 'women on the path' will eventually find them, they will arise within.

This world now as much as ever needs awakened women, women who are empowering themselves through genuine practice.

As the project was being first founded, we met extensively with Tsoknyi Rinpoche receiving advice for over a year.  He essentialized the purpose of the project with these words:

"THIS IS FOR CREATING MORE YOGINIS IN THE WORLD”

What are the causes and conditions for that?

As the Dharma spread around the world in recent decades, the question was asked again and again, ‘Well, where are the women?’   Exquisite, authentic dharma was being taught, but the transmission was primarily from traditional societies to modern, gender equality based ones.  And the images and role models of women were scarce, though the feminine was woven through the dharma.  At the time that the Yogini Project came to fruition however, women actually were and ARE the majority of practitioners in the world.  The answer was actually… “Everywhere!”

Women are actually blossoming in practice all around the world, in numbers and contexts like never before.  But how to provide the visibility, the needed images and praise?  We have often felt that The Yogini Project is here to announce a global movement that is actually hidden to its own members!

T

o meet the needs of those women - and just as much those men who are aspiring for and inspired by more positive and comprehensive images of empowered women, for themselves and others - we have striven to illuminate and fulfill these foremost

:

~ Visibility / Recognition

~ Confidence Building

~ Respect and Support

~ Sense of Community,  Of Belonging

~ Endless Inspiration

~ Empowerment and Development of Faith

Foremost, confidence has come up again and again as the most essential need for women to embark on and moment by moment genuinely engage in the path.   Both as being a woman and as an individual.  This has also been  a primary topic of the sublime teachers we feature.

From Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo in our filming for Women On The Path:

“Lesson #1 to raise their confidence to realize the path is the understanding of our buddha nature.  It is that we identify with all the wrong things really.  When it comes to buddha nature, certainly, there is no gender issue.  There is no male or female; there is no monastic or lay.  It’ss just our pure, intrinsic nature, which we all have and which is the thing that connects us all. Unlike our clinging to our individual identities which is what separates us from everybody.  So, as a foundation for our practice is to remember that inherently we are completely pure and completely ok, no matter what our outer circumstances may be.

These are just clouds, but the blue sky is always there.
”

And in the words of Her Eminence Jetsun Khandro Rinpoche:

Being able to have the confidence that who you are is absolutely fine.  That further adornment of the person as an individual by association is not needed.

I think women do tend to have a lot of confidence but at the same time are always looking for affirmation of some kind, that it's alright to be that confident.  So I think in that regard if there is also a project such as The Yogini Project that provides a platform for women to feel confident and assured in that confidence, that as they are, who they are, as a practitioner, that is very fine but further more something additional to that is not needed other than working with your own self. Then I think that is an excellent platform that will be very helpful for many women.”

WHAT THIS FUNDRAISER SUPPORTS

This includes:

a) Extending our content team to several fantastic dedicated women, providing tremendous and extensive new material, both subtle and accessible, with extraordinary new content scheduled for the next years

b) New equipment and interview budget for an extended video interview series with some of the trailblazing women both east and west in the dharma

c) Further platform enhancements and integrations essential for our coming projects

Our budget for these is $17,500-23,000, which will allow for the expanded base for our most significant projects yet, while maintaining support for a steady flow of new media from site content to extensive video interviews, and fresh, vital social media inspiration that continues to touch 100,000s weekly.

The essential first $12,500 we will raise with this fundraiser, the absolute minimum we require for our autumn work.  Please support today!

The remaining will be raised subsequently through an autumn Yogini Membership drive, with grant applications to fund our 2 year film project following the completion of these present summer-autumn fundraising drives.

Dynamic media providing visibility, praise, and support for growing confidence for the path for women practicing in today's contexts while revealing the awakened feminine past, present, and future through images of profound deity archetypes and wisdom dakini embodiments. We provide a vast array of teachings, life stories, and compassionate wisdom revelations by female bodhisattvas through our vastly comprehensive and growing website, illuminating interview series with contemporary accomplished women, and dynamic media streams with vast reach to all pockets of women in practice around the globe today.

2 - APPLICATION
(and encouragement for it)

From our expanding interview series to our poetic documentary film in preparation for its second phase of filming, the project's current focus is indeed application, the placing of bodhicitta onto the path, into the mindstreams of budding Yoginis in all continents of our world. This film evocatively evokes the dakini's warm breath in the application of the dharma to the challenges of female practitioners around the globe in the dynamic range of contexts in which they are today arising. It equally provides incentive for compassionate application of the dharma to the countless men inspired by the awakening feminine (45% of our followers, 55% of our present supporters). There are many countless sentient beings that need the tangible awakening of the feminine, it's embodiment in compassionately wise and present women now today, for the generations to come.

3 - SUPPORT

Tangible support funds for women in dedicated retreat. It is only yoginis that can make yoginis. We are here to support and nourish the causes and conditions. For years, we have been in council with numerous wise guides to provide the base for an extensive retreat support fund to last generations. In development, The Yogini Fund will be launched in the wake of the awareness that our film launch will generate. The ground is there. It is the steps forward now to fruition.

We are grateful to her in all ways. Gratitude also to all who have been supporting this profound, timely work with their hearts to grow and extend our activities!

Several donors have asked if they could support with Paypal, without using a card at GoFundMe's online platform. Absolutely yes. All one-time donations at our donor cart at our Yogini site will be manually added to the campaign these weeks.

Just select the amount you wish to donate and use Paypal as the payment method.

We are just crossing 50% of our goal at $6000 raised in the last 3 weeks. Please help us reach our goal swiftly.

Remember with gentleness…

"Karma dakinis appear in all of these forms as a way of dispelling obstacles, supporting wakefulness, and protecting the authenticity of tantric transmissions. When appearing in the gentle pacifying form, the dakini invites obstacles into the expanse, inspiring openness and warmth in the practitioner, and overcoming neediness, depression, and hopelessness. Enriching nurtures the practitioner's dignity and basic presence and inspires confidence that can support further development of the qualities of wakefulness. If obstacles still remain, the dakini takes on magnetizing qualities, drawing the practitioner into allegiance to wakefulness and the surrender of obscurations that obstruct his or her progress. In the magnetizing mode, the dakini becomes slightly more intimidating and powerful, but still benevolent."
