Our Mom needs your help!

For those of you that know our Mom, Charlotte Lundgren, you know how special she is to us as well as to her friends.  You may also know that she is a fighter and has survived 3 different cancers, the last of which being tongue and changed her life quite a bit.  We just celebrated her 10th year cancer free, however cancer doesn't always know when to stay away! Right after Thanksgiving we received the news that her cancer has come back in the mouth again.  Thankfully it is operable and has not spread however the tumor is large and sitting close to the sinus and brain so needs to be operated on right away.  In order to remove the cancer and the cells around it, they will need to remove a sizable portion of the roof of her mouth, about half of it, leaving her with a large hole there.  With the wonder of modern medicine, dentists can build a prosthesis, almost like a denture, that will fit in her mouth to close this hole.  It will be something that she will need to put in and remove at night.  Without this piece our mother will not be able to speak or eat properly again.   Which after what she has already gone through, with losing half of her tongue, is not something that would be easy for anyone to handle.  As if this is not enough, the dental piece and work for this part of the process is not going to be covered by her insurance and of course is very expensive.  The surgery is on December 18th and after she is released from the hospital she will need a few days of healing and then they will need to insert this prosthesis.  So we are taking to Go Fund Me to ask our family and friends to please help us out in making sure our Mom can yell, talk for hours on the phone, complain and gab away as long as she can!  Any little bit will be very appreciated and can help us tremendously.  This is a very hard time for all of us and again if you know our Mom, you know, that she does not like to ask for help but the idea of not speaking or eating normally again is a lot scarier.
