Help Phaedra and Makalin's Bella

I have been friends with Phaedra Hall since high school. She is one of the most loving and stubborn people I have ever met. Life has thrown her some curve balls, and she has met them head on. She’s not only the best single mom I know, she's the best mom I know. She has raised her daughter Makalin into this multi-talented, non-spoiled, empathetic teenager that I'm so proud of and continuously amazed by.

Phaedra and Makalin have an 8-year-old Catahoula shepherd mix named Bella. They both love Bella dearly, and Makalin is especially close to her. I've watched them grow up together, and Bella is more than just a pet to Makalin; she’s her friend and confidante. Makalin doesn’t ask for much, but she loves this dog with all her heart.

So, why the Go Fund Me?

Last week, Phaedra had to take Bella to Wallenpaupack Veterinary Hospital after a tumor erupted on her spleen. There was a real chance she might not even survive the surgery, but Bella has a great will to live. She survived the surgery and, although anemic, she is recovering.

To save money, Phaedra and Makalin are providing Bella with round-the-clock care at home and taking her to the vet for daily bloodwork and fluids. They are physically and emotionally exhausted, and Phaedra has the added stress of finding a way to pay for Bella’s vet bills, medication, and special food while she recovers.

Phaedra has a huge heart and is always the first one to step in to help others. This time, I want to be the one to help her out. Let’s help ease the burden a bit for Phaedra and Makalin while they nurse their beloved Bella back to health.
