Erica Helm-Glover Memorial Fund
Donation protected
We discovered Erica had Tuberous Sclerosis when she was just a teenager. This rare genetic disorder lead to a loss of kidney function and two years of dialysis before a donor kidney was finally found. This was followed by a lifetime of multiple medications and medical complications, but through it all, Erica never stopped smiling, making people laugh and devoting herself to family, friends and the love of her husband, son and 3 precious grandchildren.
Erica was known for her wild sense of style and fashion. She was bold, not afraid to speak her mind and believed in standing up for those who couldn’t stand up for themselves. It’s that sense of purpose that lead to her 15 year career as a Certified Nursing Assistant – a job she at worked tirelessly through every pain, illness and surgery she faced throughout her life. And her colleagues loved her for it.
Erica touched everyone she met with her energy and a feisty spirit - and the girl could make you laugh till you were rolling on the floor! She always said having grandchildren was the greatest “job” in the world and the way she spoiled her adorable grandchildren, you could tell she meant every word.
6 weeks ago, Erica developed an infection as a result of her lifelong medical conditions. Just two weeks ago, her doctors discovered the infection had turned into Lymphoma and that nothing more could be done to save her. For this, we were not prepared.
Our hearts are breaking right now with the shock of losing our beautiful Erica so suddenly… before we even had a chance to say goodbye. But we take comfort knowing Erica was well loved and gave so much love in return.
We will truly miss her and hope to raise funds for a memorial service and mementos for her precious grandbabies to remember her by. God Bless you all and most of all, God Bless our beautiful Erica.
