Located in Eugene, Oregon, Yujin Gakuen was the first public elementary Japanese language immersion program in the United States. Our public alternative school opened in 1988.
Yujin Gakuen’s mission is to prepare students through a bilingual, bicultural, integrated Japanese/English curriculum. This educational foundation enables our students to participate as citizens in a global, technological society which is increasingly important in today's world.
In addition to this unique education, after students complete 5th grade, they have the opportunity to take a two week immersive and educational trip to Japan where they will visit Japanese schools, stay with local families, and be exposed to the wonderful culture and sights of Tokyo and smaller towns around Tokyo. It is truly a once in a lifteime opportunity to celebrate what they have learned and continue to nurture their global awareness.
The trip is available to any 5th graders that can afford it. Expenses include airfare, stipends for host families, a guide, food, and some hotel stays. This is where you come in! Several families have comitted, but all could use assistance with paying for these expenses and enabling their sons/daughters this fantastic opportunity. Any contribution will help and is immensely appreciated.

We will be traveling to Japan June 22nd-July 7th, 2017 so that means we have about 6 months to raise our funds. Thank you in advance for your support!
