Abigail is a 5 year old girl,she is a bubbly, active child, love to interact with people. As any other child very curious about her surroundings and investigative.
On 19th April 2019 exactly one week after her 5th Birthday Abigail's curiosity almost costed her her life. She took her small chair and looked down from the 3rd floor window. We assume she was distracted by the noise outside while watching TV and wanted to see what's causing the noise and at that moment she might have lost balance and fell out from 3rd floor window and landed on the concrete floor.
She sustained the following injuries:
fracture on the base of her right eye,
fractured her right humerus (shoulder),
left femur (hip)
multiple contusions on her brain,
grade one tear on her liver,
small pneumothorax,
brain edema(swelling),
subdural hemorrhage (bleeding outside her brain as a result of her head injury)
As a result of the head injury Abigail was not able to use her left side body.
She is unable to fully open her left eye, her mouth was shifted to the side if she cries or smiles, was not able to lift her left arm and leg.
She stayed in the hospital almost 4 weeks.
With extensive physiotherapy and occupational health therapy.
Abigail is making progress and has started to move her left arm and leg.
The mouth deviation has improved and however she can't open her left eye.
Abigail is presently using a wheelchair in order for her to move around. It's very difficult for her because she doesn't fully understand why she can't walk.
Immediately after her discharge from the hospital Abigail started her rehabilitation, three times a week physiotherapy and occupational therapy.
Abigail is showing signs of improvement daily due to the rehabilitation.
Abigail is living in Dubai and unfortunately didn't have health insurance. I, her mother, have to pay the hospital cost and her rehabilitation.
I am unable to pay 85 000 UAE dirrham (21000 Euro). I am seeking for your help to raise this amount to cover Abigail's hospital cost.
For a mother to see her child in this kind of situation is unbearable.
I am so thankful for the prayers and supports I had and still have from my friends, family and everyone else who knows Abigail.
I couldn't have made it through this difficult time without all this support.
