Kicking Cancer's Ass ;o)

I was diagnosed with a high grade, invasive (triple negative) breast cancer at the beginning of February.  The treatment plan involves 5 months of chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation (in that order).  I am receiving treatment in London, Ontario, and have had 2 chemotherapy infusions so far.

I am fortunate enough to have a job that allows me to be off work during the treatment process . . . however, the long term insurance only pays 66% of my regular wages.  Like most people, my budget is stretched to the max with my regular incoming pay.  I will not be able to survive on 66% of my wages for the length of time I will be off work and, unfortunately, I rather foolishly declined disability insurance on my home and car years ago.

I have lots of friends close by who have volunteered to help me with the day to day things that need doing and the many trips to London, Ontario, for treatment.  But I also have friends and family who live far away who may wish to help out at this time.  This might be a way for everyone to be able to help me while I focus on the medical portion of the upcoming year.

I expect I will be off work for about a year with the chemotherapy, surgery, radiation, and recovery periods.

For those of you who know me well . . . you know I do not ask for help.  But circumstances being what they are . . . I am left with no choice but to reach out to family and friends.  Please help me get through this next year and allow me to focus on my health and not the horrible financial situation my current medical issues have put me in.
