My youngest brother was working in the oil field industry and was required to take a D. O. T. Physical. It showed a high blood sugar level that required more testing. Many tests later revealed quite a few medical problems ranging from a diagnosis of Type II diabetes, an umbilical hernia, gall stones and worst of all hypertrophic cardiomyopathy paired with an ascending aortic aneurysm.
Treatment for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy comes with limited options most of which are not viable as Virgel Jrs septum wall in his heart is three times the normal thickness. This will require a Myectomy to remove part of the overgrown muscle in the heart to allow proper blood flow once again. This operation is only done by very few Doctors and /or hospitals. This surgery is going to require a trip to the Mayo clinic in Rochester, Minnesota for surgery on July 27th.
Virgel has been physically unable to work for several months due to his condition. The insurance company is not wanting to cover this as the Doctor/hospital are out of system.
Virgel and Dana need your help and consideration during this time of need.
