Chris's Fight Against Cancer

Behind the smile is a very loving, brave and courageous young man, full of hopes and dreams. Chris Lamonica was born in Caracas, Venezuela and raised by his grandma since the age of 11. Now, Chris is 27 years old and his life is in grave danger. He was diagnosed with testicular cancer which has metastasized to some of his vital organs. Chris begins his radiation and chemotherapy treatment in March 2016 in Berlin, Germany.
We want to raise money for Chris to help him with his medical bills and living expenses.
So many questions are racing through Chris’ mind: why me? Will I make it through the treatment? When will I awake from this living nightmare? Will I ever see my family and friends again?
At the tender young age of 26, Chris realized that between the economic turbulence, the soaring inflation, and constantly living in fear for his life, it was time to leave Venezuela.
He made a bold decision to seek out a better opportunity, to pursue his dreams of becoming a Chef. He packed 2 luggages and headed to Berlin, Germany. Within 9 months and a lot of hard work he landed a job as Sous Chef at the Hilton Hotel. After only 3 months of working in the hotel, Chris was stricken with the deadly disease, testicular cancer.
The only people supporting him through this ordeal right now are the new friends he made over the past 14 months; he has no family in Germany. We would also want to make it possible for some of his family members from Venezuela to visit him and provide the emotional support that he so desperately needs along with the medical treatment.
We are very grateful for your support and Chris is delighted and in high spirits to see family and friends standing by his side during the most challenging time of his life thus far. Please keep Chris and his family in your prayers.

La lucha de Christopher contra el cáncer
Detras de la sonrisa hay un hombre joven muy amoroso, valiente y valeroso, lleno de esperanzas y sueños. Chris Lamonica nació en Caracas, Venezuela y fue criado por su abuela desde 11 años. Ahora, Chris tiene 27 años y su vida está en grave peligro. Fue diagnosticado con cáncer testicular que ha metastatizado a algunos de sus órganos vitales. Chris comienza su radiación y quimioterapia en marzo de 2016 en Berlín, Alemania.
Queremos colectar dinero para ayudar a Chris con sus gastos medicos por que el no tiene seguro de vida y sus gastos por su estadia por los cuatro meses de tratamiento.
Chris se hace muchas preguntas: ¿por qué yo? ¿Voy a sobrevivir mi tratamiento? ¿Cuándo me voy a despertar de esta pesadilla? ¿Voy a ver a mi familia y mis amigos otra vez?
A la tierna edad de 26, Chris se dio cuenta, entre las turbulencias económicas, la inflación creciente, y viviendo constantemente con miedo por su vida que era tiempo de salir de Venezuela.
Chris tuvo que tomar una decision muy dificil para el por que tuvo que dejar atraz toda su familia y seres queridos para buscar una oportunidad mejor, para perseguir sus sueños de ser cocinero profesional. Empacó 2 maletas y se fue a Berlín, Alemania. Despues de 9 meses y un montón de trabajo consiguió un trabajo como asistente del cocinero principal en el Hotel Hilton. Después de sólo 3 meses de trabajar en el hotel, Chris fue afectado con el cáncer testicular.
Las únicas personas que lo apoyan en este momento son los nuevos amigos que hizo durante los últimos 14 meses; no tiene familia en Alemania. También nos gustaría financiar un viaje para su familia que le puede dar el apoyo emocional que tan desesperadamente necesita durante su tratamiento.
Estamos muy agradecidos por su apoyo y Chris está lleno de mucho positivismo y muchas esperanzas y también de ver a sus amigos y familia a su lado durante el momento más difícil de su vida. Por favor mantengan a Chris y su familia en sus oraciones.
