William's Fund for Yale Rugby Tour

Welcome to my fundraising page!

This page is to help me fundraise for Yale Men's Rugby tour to Hong Kong and Japan in March of 2018. This is a two-week-long tour where we will train alongside international teams, participate in events leading up to the Rugby World Cup 2019 in Japan, and build relationships with rugby clubs across Asia. Although we have received a number of generous donations from alumni, we are tasked with raising over $30,000 in order to fund the trip's expenses and sponsor students who may not otherwise be able to afford to go.

This year, I am a winger on Yale's team. My time as a Yale Rugger has been amazing to say the least. I had never played rugby before and was hesitant to jump it. I am so glad that I did as I have absolutely grown to love the team, coaches, and most importantly: the beautiful game of rugby. 

This fundraiser is hugely important to me as I have never been able to afford many opportunities throughout my life. I owe so much to the generosity of Yale and the many people who have helped me financially towards such opportunities. 

My goal is to raise $1000, and I will wear a gumby costume to every day for a week if I exceed my goal. If I hit $500, I will take the coaches on a very nice and sentimental dinnner date.  

If you would be willing to donate, it would mean the world to myself, my teammates, and the many coaches who put countless hours into developing this team; additionally, you will receive updates from the tour, including videos of our day-to-day training and daily recaps of our adventures from the tour scribe. Even if you do not care about the sport of rugby, if you would like to see me [perform said activity], then please consider donating.
